Fifth year, new theme, same struggle
Hi!
After a brutal winter, the coldest in Latvia in 15 years, spring arrived early, and it’s finally time to wake up from hibernation.
It’s not that there was nothing to share these past months, but most of our energy went toward surviving the heating bills, which absolutely skyrocketed. We kept busy hustling at Sābrs Work Room with events and project writing, but the newsletter got put on hold. Now it’s time to shed some light on what’s coming.
This year is our fifth festival edition! And the theme is *drumroll* PAPER MEMORY!
Save the date, as always, it’s the first weekend of July 4–5 this time. More details and an open call are coming in the next letter, but we’re genuinely excited about how the exhibition program is shaping up.
Not so exciting thing — we didn’t receive funding again, third year in a row. We still have one more chance to apply to another round of governmental funding, so fingers crossed. So If you’re in a position to support us, you’re welcome to do it here. Every contribution goes directly toward things like exhibition materials, hosting fees, and keeping the whole thing running.
